An alpine creature from the forests of Bavaria in Germany. Wolpertingers are comprised of various animal parts, their most common portrayal being that of a small creature with the head of a rabbit, the body of a squirrel, the antlers of a deer, the wings of a pheasant and the legs of a chicken. Wolpertingers are very shy creatures and are rarely seen but will occasionally forgo their usual habit of hiding due to their strange behavioural trait of falling in love with human women – often to their own detriment.
As has (rightfully) already been said elsewhere, this band and album are "absolute fire."
Despite the doom-gloom cover art, this type of rock music is a positive force. Especially without vocals, which for me is a bonus. Dale Lloyd
Big, clanging psych-rock from this Arizona outfit fuses monk-like vocals with slow-winding guitars for songs that feel like strange hymns. Bandcamp New & Notable May 2, 2016
