A demonic and monstrous shapeshifting undead creature originating from pre-Islamic Arabian mythology. These cryptids have the association of living in graveyards and consuming human flesh, while their name comes from the Arabic word غُول, a derivative of غَالَ which means “to seize”. A mother Ghūl is referred to as ‘Umm Ghulah, and there exist a great many tales of men being lured into the home of an ‘Umm Ghulah where she devours them. Oftentimes a Ghūl will take the form of the person it has most recently eaten, using its appearance to exploit and consume those who were close to the victim. This monster is the progenitor of the English word, ghoul.
As has (rightfully) already been said elsewhere, this band and album are "absolute fire."
Despite the doom-gloom cover art, this type of rock music is a positive force. Especially without vocals, which for me is a bonus. Dale Lloyd
Big, clanging psych-rock from this Arizona outfit fuses monk-like vocals with slow-winding guitars for songs that feel like strange hymns. Bandcamp New & Notable May 2, 2016
