They asked me why
They were born into filth
I gave them an honest answer
But they did not like the truth
As they played in the mud
Filled with cutworms and snakes
With devilish onlookers gambling
On the pig children's fates
Oh no
Jump on the tombstone
Of yesterday's love
Unfair redemption
As you bleed from the heart
With a stone in your mouth
It has broken your teeth
Beg for forgiveness
Down on your knees
Oh no
Asleep in silk, oh no
The children in filth, oh no
Pigs in the mud, oh no
Helpless but loved
What even was your love?
You let us live like scum
We ate what you spilt
The stars rose in the sky
And the pig children wept
They dug out of their pens
And in the darkness they left
To seek unforetold riches
And beds made of silk
They escaped from the mud to the land
Filled with honey and milk
Oh no
Asleep in silk, oh no
The children in filth, oh no
Pigs in the mud, oh no
Helpless but loved
What even was your love?
You let us live like scum
We ate WHAT. YOU. SPILT.
We thought that you had love
But it was all for blood
Our world lay between
Walls of filth and what can't be seen
You turned us on ourselves
All we knew is what you'd tell
What even was your love?
You let us live like scum
We ate what you spilt
SPILT
WE. ATE. WHAT. YOU. SPILT.

Another fantastic album, each track is a journey. There is clear storytelling here, despite the album being mostly instrumental in nature. Park's guitar-playing is evocative and the drone elements that made 2017's 'After the Earth Has Burned' such a success make a welcome return here too. Wonderful release leaveseclipse
